NEWS:Metro Stop Lit Up by Artist Group
7 November 2007

The Hawthorns Metro stop will be bathed in light following the installation of a dramatic light and animation project - 'Telling Tales Alight'.
The project, which focuses on celebrating the diverse nature of North Smethwick has involved several groups of residents working with Multistory - a community arts group.
The groups have taken part in workshops to create pictures symbolising what the area means to them in terms of friends, family, interests, locations, landmarks and their hopes for the future. Local artist Jaspal Sehint has worked with these images to produce an animation in lights for the roof of the station which takes viewers on a journey through the history and heritage of the area.
The official switch-on will take place on Thursday, 8th November 2007 and the animation will remain until 4th January 2008.
