Travel Midland Metro will be freezing Midland Metro Travelcard prices for yet another year, this is being achieved as part of a balanced policy aimed at encouraging regular use of trams.
Adult 1 week card will remain the same price - £13.50
Adult 4 week - £44.00
Adult 52 week - £471.00
Adult monthly Direct Debit - £39.25
Child 1 week - £6.75
Child 4 week - £22.00
Cash fares will face adjustments with Off Peak Returns increasing by 10p each and peak returns by 20p. Single fares increase by a maximum of 20p.
There are real savings for customers switching to Metro Travelcards and taking the advantages that frozen prices on these fares provide.
Day Metro/Bus tickets will be adjusted by 15p from £4.45 to £4.60 with a Child Day Metro/Bus ticket rising 10p, taking this price from £2.95 to £3.05
There are also new products available. These are Adult Metro Daytripper Tickets (£4.00), and Child Metro Daytripper tickets (£3.00), these will be valid on the tram services. Designed for use after 9.30 am Mondays to Friday but excluding Bank Holidays. This new 'collection' of tickets includes a Family * Metro Daytripper priced at £8.00 allowing a whole family to travel on one ticket (*Family groups can be up to 6 people not more than 2 of whom must be 16 or over. Each family group must contain at least 1 adult and 1 child.).
Phil Bateman Corporate Affairs Director said " There are very good reasons for regular metro users to switch to Metro Travelcards. This is because they are not only good value but it really does ‘Make Travel Simpler’.
These new fares will become valid as from the 2nd January 2008.
